About the event
This month’s meeting focuses on the important topic of looking after our well-being throughout the PhD process. Some authors advocate mindfulness as part of a sustainable academic writing practice e.g. Firth (2023). To start the session we will have a short talk about how mindfulness might be helpful for cultivating our well-being and a brief taster of a mindfulness exercise. This will be followed by some time to break into smaller groups and talk about different strategies that we use for looking after ourselves so that when we come back to the main group we will be able to share lots of ideas and hopefully end the session feeling motivated to focus on nurturing our well-being and ready to try out some of the new suggestions.
