Entering the Dragons' Den! BAAL funded workshop
The Language Learning Psychology PhD Community Organising Team successfully bid for funding to run a Researcher Development Workshop. Entering the Dragons' Den: Pitching Qualitative Methods in PLLT Research will be held at the University of Nottingham on 10th June 2024 with Dr Sal Consoli & Dr Christine Muir as guest speakers and 'Dragons'. Registration is open to BAAL members until 9th May 2024.

CRELLU PGR Conference
Siying Shen presented a paper entitled 'Understanding Mandarin learners’ motivation in/with their context: A data-rich approach in a longitudinal study' at the University of York Centre for Research in Language Learning and Use PGR Conference, with the theme Meeting Methodologies.

Bridging Global Citizenship And Multilingual Competences Conference
Group members Bochra Kouraichi, Carlos Murillo, Giulia Sulis, and Katarina Mentzelopoulos met up at the University of Graz, Austria for the Bridging Global Citizenship and Multilingual Competences International Conference!Bochra presented a paper entitled '"If everything goes well, I'll be a proficient speaker": Estonian Students’ LOTE Motivation', and Katarina presented one entitled 'In the words of the learner: Capturing the complexity of multilingual motivation through narrative'. Carlos and Giulia helped organise the conference.

Celebrating Two Years Of LLP
We hosted a lunchtime reception at the University of Warwick to celebrate two years since our LLP PhD Community's first meeting. Thank you to the University of Warwick Doctoral College and the ESRC for funding for this event, and to our members new and old who could make this idea a real community!

LLP Birmingham Trip
We hosted an in-person meeting in Birmingham, where we talked about all manner of things to do with research and language learner psychology! It was wonderful see each other in person, many of us for the first time. Thank you to the University of Warwick Doctoral College for funding for this event.
