About the event
Bio:
Junjie Li is a PhD candidate in the Department of Applied Linguistics, at the University of Warwick. His research interests include motivation, sense of agency, L2 self, and participatory research involving children. Junjie works with young language learners to understand how they experience and make sense of motivation change in Chinese-English bilingual instructed contexts.
Weizhao Gong is a PhD candidate in the Department of Applied Linguistics, at the University of Warwick. Her research interests include second/ foreign language acquisition and learning for children, children’s literature in language learning, digital reading, mobile-assisted language learning, participatory research. Weizhao’s doctoral study explores Chinese EFL children’s perceptions about their mobile reading experiences.
Description of the meeting: The participatory technique is gaining traction among qualitative researchers working with children, yet its complexities are insufficiently explored.
