About the event

The topic will be the current climate of publishing in PLLT and we hope to explore issues including pathways into editorial roles, the AI era, open access, and open publishing. We are excited to have as guest speakers: Lani Freeborn, Nathan Thomas & Dr Nick Marx.

Lani Freeborn is a PhD candidate and lecturer at the Amsterdam Centre for Language and Communication (ACLC), University of Amsterdam. Her research interests include aptitude, individual differences in second language learning, and research methods. Lani studies language aptitude from a Complex Dynamic Systems Theory (CDST) perspective, using network modelling to examine the interplay between cognitive, affective and conative individual differences. Lani currently serves as Co-Editor for Linguistics in Amsterdam, on the editorial board for The Journal for the Psychology of Language Learning, and as Board Member for the International Association for the Psychological of Language Learning (IAPLL).
